HOUSING PRICEs - TRENDS L12M

Since 2000, housing prices across the largest metropolitan areas have risen or declined at different rates. The following graphs show the trailing 12 month growth rates in home prices using S&P Case Shiller indices for the larger metropolitan markets.

Note the wide and dramatic variations in price movements and levels over this time period.

Most recently, year-over-year home price increases have moderated significantly. Some markets have shown declines in recent months and housing prices have declined in Seattle over the past year.
